I was born at South Peninsula Hospital in 1994 and grew up in Homer. I went to McNeil Canyon Elementary, Homer Middle School, Homer High and Connections. After high school I left Alaska for college, met my lovely wife, and started my career. When the pandemic sent my job remote, I knew I wanted to move back to Homer, which we did in 2024.
I'm running for Borough Assembly to give back to the town that raised me. I want to support the hospital I was born in and the schools I graduated from, so they can serve this community for generations.
I have a master's degree in public policy from the University of Chicago and I work in business analytics. I know how to understand a budget, work with tradeoffs and constraints, and make data driven decisions. Since coming home I've served on Homer's Economic Development Advisory Commission, which keeps me informed about the local economy and politics.
Homer has changed a lot in my lifetime. I remember digging clams on the beach, set-netting for silvers in Mud Bay, and recesses at McNeil Canyon with six feet of snow. Homer is going to keep changing and I want to help it change for the better. I want to represent you in a way that honors the history of this community and also looks toward the future, so that Homer can be a great place for families to live for generations to come.
